Book assignment #1
The picture symbolizes Rose looking into her only safe place, the only place where she is stronger than her abusive husband she left behind who is now hunting her down.
The plot of the story is a woman who got married to her "love" when she was young after she lost a;l her family. Her husband became abusive and didn't ever let her leave the house unless she was getting groceries and she had a very limited amount of money he would give her whenever she left the house. One day when he was at work she left and she ran away to a women's shelter and had to do it fast because her husband tracked his account and thats where she was getting the go away money. She got away and he spends the whole time looking for her and she finds one place where she becomes completely safe, at least for a while.
After reading the book i understand that the colors on the cover represent the veil she is faced with. Her husband is bad so he is red and thats why there is a red look. Red is also the color of blood and that is what came out of her every time he hit her. She had been near death many times which is black. The black represents the death. But black and red together represent her strength to overcome both those obstacles. The picture she is looking at represents her safe place which also has the colors of her past because it is where she overcomes everything that she has been through.
I think the name that it has suits it perfectly; i couldn't name it better myself.

Part 1 font
Times New Roman is my favorite font cat because he looks very business sophisticated and professional and that is what that font is usually used for; business plans and school papers.
The cats go with the fonts that they are with because they are either very business like or sophisticated or fun. The silly cats are with the names that are fun and the more business like/related fonts are with cats that look like they belong in that category of work. Its a good way to identify fonts for somebody with photographic memory as well. It may also be more interesting to the reader and get them to start using that font.

David Hockney inspired assignment #1
http://carlateneyck.com/personal/david-hockney-ophelia-critiquing-paintings.html
Description: In this photo i see a woman that is upset about something and she's thinking very deeply. The colors of the plants are bright, but the water she is lying in is a darker blue, which seems to represent her emotion.
Analysis: The color is used strongly by the artist to get his point through. The contrast between the bright and dark colors makes me think deeper about her mood. There is emphasis on her bright face in the dark water showing that she is the subject of the painting and not the plants.
Interpretation: In this photo i see a young woman who is contemplating living or dying. Taking the easy way out or fighting in the world. She is uncertain of what her next move will be so she just lies there waiting for an answer, hoping. I think the title does in fact work. it's simple and leaves room for the imagination to work.
Judgement: I think other people should see this work because it's beautiful and anybody can relate to the time they were in a hard place or just felt empty or had trouble making a choice and i believe this is what this photo represents.
This photo was edited in photoshop and i used color match to match the colors in this picture to the Ophelia painting.

Cake Day- edits (before and after)
#1 The berries and sprinkles are brighter and make the cupcake look more delicious/appealing.
#2 the pie looks like it has the spotlight and the crust and blueberries look crisp and delicious and the cream looks tempting.
#3 The cake is not so bright so you can see more details in the white of the frosting and the red looks a darker velvet red like it should.
#4 I put the picture into black and white and made the picture pop with only the brightest colors not hidden behind the black and white filter.

Weirdos and Rainbows
While painting the easter eggs my little sisters and cousins got dye all over their hand and i thought it would make a great picture and really capture the spirit of easter. Then i went into photoshop to edit this picture and by accident i edited this photo(original on top, edited on bottom) and the colors caught my eyes. This isn't a traditional photo, but it captures the spirit of the children and of easter and this is my favorite picture i've edited thus far because its weirdly beautiful!
Pretty in Pink
This is one of the eggs that my cousin colored for easter and i love this picture i took because the color really pops, you can see the texture of the water and the color really contrasts against the white letters.

Questions about logo and sketchwork
Which typographic and pictorial elements are absolutely necessary in order to communicate the business of your photo biz?
-I have to incorporate the elegance i plan to capture in my human subjects and figure out how to use the first letter in each of the names for my business logo by putting them somewhere around the elegant figure.
When the logo needs to be copied as a small, black and white image, will all elements translate well?
Is a logo mark necessary?
-Yes i do believe that it will translate very well and i also believe that a logo mark is necessary for my company. I believe a logo mark just makes the logo more appealing.
Is color necessary?
-Color is not necessary but i think it would make a black or white logo mark pop more.
If color is necessary, what colors are appropriate?
-An appropriate color really depends on the clientele that you wish to attract. Since I'm trying to get more of a formal clientele i might stick to black and white since that seems to be the color scheme most associated with class. I might even throw in a little bit of red for a more noticeable logo.
**I did not do any sketch work because i knew right off the bat what i wanted and i'm not good at drawing so i just went straight to photoshop and started on what i feel would look best for my logo.

Im A Proud Big Cheer Sister!
My Mommy and my little sisters are my world. This past weekend we attended their cheer competition and they won first place. I took this picture right after we walked out of the gym when thy got their first place medals. It really shows how proud they were of themselves and how proud my mom is of her children. This is a picture that represents love to me stronger than any other picture because it shows a mother's love of her children.

Photo Challenge 15: Valentines day love portrait
The reason i chose to do a picture of a mother and son for valentines day is the simple fact that the love between two people is overplayed. In my house it's much more important to show your love to your family on valentines dat rather than to have some boyfriend/girlfriend that you can spend it with. There is no love stronger than that of a mother's for her child.

student in famous painting
I picked this painting because i saw that it had possibility to be funny and his look of longing clashed with my funny face perfectly. The lines on his abs give his body definition and there is contrast between the colors on top and bottom portray the possibility to be evil or good. The shape is his body.
